This transformative landscape architectural project was completed at the former printing press facility for the Los Angeles Times in Costa Mesa, California. Originally conceived as a vibrant corporate center, the vision integrated a dynamic food hall, an expansive park, and inviting outdoor restaurants and breweries. The design aimed to create a unique destination where employees, visitors, and the local community could gather, dine, and enjoy the outdoors in a setting that celebrated both the site's industrial heritage and the possibilities of modern public space.
Design Vision
The master plan embraced the scale and character of the historic printing press facility, blending contemporary landscaping with industrial elements. Pathways meandered through curated gardens, shaded seating zones, and interactive spaces, all seamlessly connected to the food hall and outdoor dining areas. The park was designed to be a living tapestry—featuring native plantings, sculptural installations, and innovative gathering spaces that encouraged both relaxation and engagement.
